These conditions allowed for even ripening of the Shiraz grapes, resulting in fruit with concentrated flavours and balanced acidity. The vintage is noted for producing wines with intensity and elegance.WinemakingUnder the guidance of winemaker Coby Ladwig, the Shiraz grapes were destemmed, crushed, and chilled into small fermenters. A cold soak for five days preceded fermentation with selected yeast strains. Gentle pump-overs and controlled temperatures preserved the fruits integrity. Post-fermentation, the wine was pressed directly into a combination of 30 new and 70 seasoned French oak barrels, where it matured for 12 months. No fining was required, ensuring the wines natural character remained intact.Tasting NotesThis medium-bodied Shiraz showcases vibrant violet hues and aromas of dark fruits intertwined with subtle spice. The palate reveals layers of blackberry, pepper, and tobacco, complemented by hints of cocoa.
