This 2021 Shiraz from Terra Riches Southern Navigator range reflects just that. Guided by winemakers Luke Eckersley and Coby Ladwig, its a wine that brings together fruit purity, gentle structure and a thoughtful approach to winemaking. Vintage ConditionsThe 2021 season began with a wet winter that refreshed the soils and supported healthy vine growth. A warm, dry summer followed, extending into a long, mild autumn. This slow ripening helped the Shiraz grapes build rich flavour and colour, while keeping their natural balance and finesse. Winemaking ProcessAfter harvest, the fruit was crushed and cold soaked to draw out flavour and aromatics. It was then wild fermented in small open fermenters, with gentle pump-overs twice a day. Once fermentation was complete, the wine was pressed and moved to French oak barrels, including a mix of new and seasoned oak. Over 15 months, it matured quietly, with malolactic fermentation happening in the barrel to soften the tannins and build texture. Tasting NotesDeep crimson in the glass with a subtle brick red edge, this Shiraz opens with inviting aromas of dark berries, cherry and warm spice. On the palate, its full and rounded, with layers of blackcurrant, gentle oak spice and a fine tannin line that brings everything together.
